Papa Time

One papa, five children, and the talks they have together.

And we're back from our unannounced vacation! We took off to do a bit of summer camping and forgot to schedule a podcast.

Truxton and Papa discussed the usual wide variety tonight - including fairy eating rats, falling bridges, dangerous animals, and Marco Polo.

Sophie and Papa talk about Washington Irving, magic fruit tree beans, racism, honey bees, and squirrels, among many other things.

Tonight Papa and Violet try to overcome the difficulties that interviewing a two-year-old can encompass. Violet enjoys "squishing" the pop filter (see picture below), which doesn't really help to produce a great sounding podcast.

  • Emerald green rivers and magical fish
  • Heaven and adventure
  • Pirates
  • Giant lobsters
  • Karma

Where the Sidewalk Ends

Gillian lost not one, but two front teeth today! The cover picture in this podcast was taken after the first tooth came out and just before she lost the second. She was pretty thrilled! Naturally, the tooth fairy was a large presence in this episode. Other topics discussed include, how we take our tea and coffee, Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley, and (surprise!) books.

Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaur!

Curious George

Are You My Mother?

This episode is a special episode in honor of Mother's Day which is coming up this Sunday! It is also the first time we have attempted to record as an entire family (except for Violet, who preferred to sleep).

If you enjoy the podcast, do us a huge favor and rate, review, and subscribe! It truly would help us out.

We talked about many books in this episode, but the main one I wanted to make sure you can find is this coloring book. We love ours!

This conversation between Truxton and Papa ends up being heavy on reptiles. After a trip to the zoo, they talk about the Emerald Tree Boa, the rhinoceros snake, snakes that look just like sticks in the water, anacondas, chameleons, copperheads, spring peepers, corn snakes, and bearded dragons. They do also end up discussing the polar bear.

Books mentioned:

National Audubon Society Field Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians

Joan of Arc, by Diane Stanley

Sophie and Papa are chatting this evening. They talk a bit about Abigail Adams, the creative process of sewing, what sorts of things we should grow in our garden, furniture, and imaginary toothbrush ladies.
